What is Rooted Outdoors?
Rooted Outdoors is a new social venture with one simple aim — to make outdoor adventures more accessible, affordable and enjoyable for families.
We're working towards creating a welcoming countryside destination where families can camp, explore nature, learn new skills and spend meaningful time together.
From traditional camping and woodland adventures to nature-based learning, growing food and outdoor activities, the vision is to create somewhere that feels like a real adventure — without making family time outdoors unaffordable.

We’re actively searching for the right location for our first Rooted Outdoors site, speaking with landowners, estates and rural professionals about suitable opportunities.

Alongside our land search, we’re carrying out family market research and developing the project step by step to make sure Rooted Outdoors reflects what families actually want and need.

THE STORY BEHIND ROOTED OUTDOORS
Rooted Outdoors grew from something that has always been a huge part of my life — my love of being outdoors.
Some of my happiest memories are of being outside: playing and exploring as a child, camping, discovering new places and enjoying the freedom that comes with being surrounded by nature.
I was born with a physical disability, having one hand, and I've also experienced challenges with my mental health. But I've never wanted either to define what I can experience. I've enjoyed camping, hiking, cycling, kayaking, exploring waterfalls, growing my own fruit and vegetables and trying new outdoor activities.
One of the things I hope Rooted Outdoors can show is that adventure doesn't have to look the same for everyone. I want children and adults of different abilities to feel encouraged to explore, try something new and discover what they're capable of.
I believe some of the best family memories don't have to cost a fortune. They can be made around a campfire, exploring a woodland trail, getting muddy, growing something or simply spending time together outdoors.
That's what I want Rooted Outdoors to help create.
